Q: What does the price include?
A: The price includes all bed linen (pillow covers, duvet covers and bed sheets), bath towels, hand and tea towels and beds made up on arrival. Also included are complimentary wood/kindling/firelighters to get you started. Tea and coffee on arrival.
Q: What is the length of stay?
A: The length of stay for Slate Mountain Glamping is anywhere between 1 and 7 nights.
Q. When is full payment requested?
A: Full payment is requested 6 weeks in advance of your stay. We do not refund if cancellation is under 12 weeks before your visit, but if there are any issues do give us a call on 01766 830306
Q.Is a deposit requested?
A: Yes a deposit will be requested at the point of booking.
Q. What are the prices for the glamping?
A: The prices on slatemountain.co.uk are not binding; Slate Mountain reserves the right to modify these prices. At the time of booking you will be informed of the prices applicable. The price stated on the confirmation/invoice is binding. Discounts and/or special offers can no longer be used after the confirmation/invoice has been sent by Slate Mountain.
Q: What do we do about travel and cancellation insurance?
A: We advise you to take out cancellation insurance. In the event of cancellation please see our Terms and Conditions or contact 01766 830 306
Q: Can we bring our pet?
A: We do accept dogs on site, but there is a cleaning charge of £20 per dog for this. We do not allow dogs on furniture or bedding. Please ensure they are under control and on a lead at all times.
Q: Is there a WC and shower inside the tent?
A: Yes, each safari tent has a lavatory and shower.
Q: Do you supply electricity or Wi-Fi in your tents?
A: Yes we provide both electricity and Wi-Fi.
Q: Is there a mobile phone signal on the site?
A: Yes we do have Wi-Fi, our site is chosen for its remoteness and beauty, so signal may be pretty limited up there on the hillsides!
Q: Is there water in the tent?
A: Each safari tent has a hand basin in the bathroom and a washing up sink in the kitchen area with a hot and cold tap.
Q: What is the earliest arrival time?
A: We like to welcome our guests between 3 pm and 7 pm should there be any problems with the check in times please do give us a call 01766 830306. If you are unable to arrive by 7 pm please ring us on 01766 830306 so we can make arrangements for you. If you arrive after 9 pm there will be a £30 call out charge.
Q: Are there cooking facilities in the safari tent?
A: There is a microwave and a kettle in the safari tent and a barbecue outside.
Q: Can I bring a travel cot?
A: Yes of course. We can also supply these at a cost of £15 each per stay but please reserve the cot in advance.
Q: Can we pitch our own tents on site as well?
A: We regret that we do not allow other tents on site.
Q: Can we park beside the tent?
A: We regret that we do not allow vehicles up on the hillsides. We ask you to park your car in the on-site car park and our staff will escort you and your luggage to your hillside safari tent.
Q: How many tents do you have on each site?
A: We currently have 6 safari tents.
Q: Can we buy essential items onsite?
A: We provide essential items such as toothpaste and soap onsite in our shop, plus barbecue packs, beer and wine.
Q: How do we keep food items cold?
A: We do provide fridges in all of our safari tents.
Q: Do we need to bring cooking utensils, plates, cups, knives and forks?
You are welcome to bring in food. Therefore, to make your stay as comfortable as possible crockery, plates, cups, glasses and cutlery are provided. Q: Can you supply fireguards?
Q: Can you supply fireguards?
A: We do have fireguards. They should help reduce the chance of an accident, but parental supervision near the log burner is a must.
Q: Can we light camp fires? Can we hire a Fire pit/BBQ?
A: We regret that for safety reasons, open fires are NOT permitted on site. Each tent has its own barbecue.
Q Is there storage in the safari tent?
A: There is space for bags under the beds and limited shelving.
Q: Do we have to clean the tents when we leave?
A: We do ask that the washing up is done and all rubbish bagged and taken to the rubbish area.

Q: Are ball games allowed on the sites?
A: Yes ball games are allowed on site! Although we do ask you to be careful, children must be supervised.
Q: Is there any risk glamping on the hillsides next to the quarries?
A: Remember that you will be staying on an old quarry site with potentially dangerous slopes. There is also part of the quarry that is still working so be aware that there are heavy trucks travelling on site. Also you must be aware that some of the tent equipment (such as the log burner) may be dangerous if misused. Whilst we take great care to keep you safe, accidents can happen and we are not responsible for such accidents (to the greatest extent permitted by law). It is your responsibility to supervise any children. If you notice that any equipment looks faulty and/or unsafe you must inform The Slate Caverns as soon as possible. We strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance against the risk of accidents and your stay being cut short.
Q: Is there a first aide on site or first aid facilities?
A: Each tent has a first aid kit provided which is regularly checked and stocked up. We also have a first aid room on site during our day time opening hours.
Q: Are the sites secure?
A: We feel safe as we can be here. The Slate Caverns is a very diverse site with many tourist attractions that are closed at night.
